Invitation

I am sincerely honored to announce that there will be three artists showing simultaneously for this show.  They compliment each other in a unique way.  The only explanation for how each piece blends is that they have the common theme of what I call 'industrial-natural form.'  The first artist, Meirav Haber, is a ceramic sculptor whose work springs from the streets of Los Angeles into delicate expressions of color and texture.  I am proud to introduce Hakym Rinkovsky, also a modern sculptor, has captured a style that I have never seen before.  He builds furniture-art from raw materials that echo back to the ancient Aztec.  Lastly, Peter Churchill, a traditional stained glass artist, rounds out the trio with his images of nature in bent light.  Each of these mediums are complex and must be seen in person to appreciate.  Please see the link 'Artist Bios' below for more information.

It is great that this anniversary celebration coincides with the holidays. The date of this reception was chosen so that it could be the first Christmas Party of 2010!  As with all of the shows at the Sespe Gallery, I am hoping that this will be a launching point for a night out on the town.  Enjoy delicious hors d'oeuvres, wine (and non-alcohol drinks) and fine art before you head out on a date night to the Camarillo Outlet Mall, Edwards I-Max Theater, and a multitude of shopping and dining opportunities in Old Town.  This is a drop-by event where you and your new and old friends can relax and enjoy each others' company.

The pieces are very reasonably priced and make amazing Christmas gifts.  All proceeds for the gallery are donated to charity.  This show will be benefiting Aspira Net's Transitional Housing Program Plus (THPP).  This program has an incredibly compassionate staff that helps adolescent girls in the foster care system that are heading toward emancipation at the age of eighteen.  These children have not been adopted and need guidance to become self-sufficient.  If you would like to learn more about them, please visit the following website:  http://www.aspiranet.org/FosterCare/THP.aspx

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce Robert Sack PhD, clinical psychologist, who has recently joined Nahed Stefany LMFT and I at the Sespe Center.

This is a very special event.  It marks the anniversary since the Sespe Center opened.  Only a year ago, the vision of combining a counseling center with a progressive art gallery came true.  This environment has surpassed my wildest hopes in that I have seen the interplay between the artist's inspiration and each client's courageous path of healing.  The idea was to have a space that was constantly evolving.  I look back at the history of different mediums shown in the gallery and remember the special relationships that were developed during therapy sessions and see mutual insight.  Art and psychotherapy are expressions of passion.
