General Psychotherapy: Anxiety and Depression:
Cognitive/Dialectic Behavioral Therapy

Individuals, couples, families, adolescents, and children see me for many reasons. Some of these are serious and include anxiety & panic disorders and depression. These are issues that can dominate a person’s day–to–day ability to feel positive about themselves. I believe that people are usually cut off from accessing their inner resiliency and can eventually learn to develop new coping tools that create relief sometimes for the first time. I am trained in Cognitive/Dialectic Behavioral Therapy that helps a person to be an observer of their thoughts so that they can learn to react to a real threat rather than one that is magnified by the mind. The impulsivity of our thoughts can generate guilt, shame and regret which does not need to happen. We seek to develop a moment-of-pause in order to regulate our emotions and STOP, think and do self-care before we act.
