Parent-Child Interactive Therapy: Theraplay©

The Sespe Counseling Center Child Therapy Room is state of the art; providing children the opportunity to use a variety of modalities to explore/express the issues that they are going through. I am trained in using art therapy, sand tray, and fantasy play (drama) therapies. We have specific interventions for child traumas such as sexual assault/molest, witnessing domestic violence, undergoing medical procedures, grieving the loss of a loved one, and physical/emotional abuse. Theraplay © is used in the treatment of behavioral issues, socialization, attachment disorders, etc. I use the room often with kids that need a safe place to talk about their frustrations of having Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (and other learning disorders) or to talk about what it is like for them to go through a divorce.
