Family Court Services: Parenting Plan Coordinator & Reunification Therapy

Another specialty that I have is working with high conflict divorce dynamics. I am frequently appointed by the Family Courts as a (Parallel-)Parenting Plan Coordinator (AKA Special Master), Reunification Therapist, and for Supervised Therapeutic Visitation Therapist. Reunification Therapy, specifically, is for cases where a parent has not had contact with their child and they need a therapist to aid in the paced, safe process of reconnecting. I also provide Supervised Therapeutic Supervision when the courts feel that it is needed because there are safety issues between a child and a parent (or other family member) and the visitation needs to be supervised. I am a believer of Parallel Parenting, a disengaged model that has parents reduce contact between each other accept for communication regarding the essential health and welfare of their children. This allows for the children to have an independent, autonomous relationship with each parent that removes them from a previous triangulated position (in-the-middle). This is where many parents end up; why wait for it to happen over a period of many years when a therapist can guide a family to a place that encourages them to look toward their future more quickly. I write comprehensive reports to the courts and am an expert witness. These cases are especially sensitive and I am known for making a huge personal commitment to finding solutions for the toughest of cases.
